We invite you to the book exhibition “Painted Music”, displayed on the third floor of Kaunas Library, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis’ birth. The exhibition presents books, photo albums, and compact discs imbued with M. K. Čiurlionis’ creativity, details of his biography, and stories about the artist’s life and legacy. Here one can discover not only visual and musical recordings, but also texts that help to better understand his personality, creative path, and influence on both Lithuanian and world culture.

Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis was a creator who transformed music into colors and colors into sounds. He created not only paintings, music, and poetry, but also a unique world of feelings and dreams that continues to offer us extraordinary beauty and deep mysteries to this day. His art invites us to pause, to look closely, and to listen. In his paintings we find dreamlike landscapes full of symbols and light, while in his music we encounter peace, gentleness, and profound emotion. This is art that unites heaven and earth, silence and sound, daily life and eternity.

The book exhibition “Painted Music” invites us to remember M. K. Čiurlionis, to rediscover his legacy, and to feel that the light of his art—shining for 150 years—remains alive.
