We invite you to the book exhibition “Fragment in the landscape mosaic” on the library’s third floor. In the exhibition, you will find books about Lithuanian and foreign landscapes, urbanism, and architecture. The exhibition also exhibits photo albums of gardens, landscapes and building exteriors, as well as publications of works by landscape architects.
In the context of these times, when we are increasingly talking about the effects of climate change, landscape change is becoming a pressing issue. Cultural landscapes reflect the evolution of society and the creation of people in a given environment, the struggle against physical barriers, and/or the ability to take advantage of the natural environment, and social, economic, and cultural conditions, both internal and external. Often, cultural landscapes reflect certain ways of sustainable land use related to the characteristics and limitations of the natural environment in which these landscapes are located, as well as the special spiritual relationship of man with nature.
