We invite you to the exhibition “Improvisations” by Birutė Šležienė, lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution. It is a collection of 12 original paintings in which, with the help of digital technologies, the artist manipulates photographic images to create unique compositions.
In her digital graphic works, the artist interprets the motifs of the Lithuanian landscape, creating multi-layered, three-dimensional images. The graphic details of natural vegetation are arranged in the compositions in accordance with the central axis of the paintings, which makes the works somewhat reminiscent of fractals (geometric formations whose individual fragments are similar or identical to the whole or other fragments). This way of representation gives new meanings to the motifs chosen by Birutė Šležienė.
