As the golden autumn reaches its midpoint, we are pleased to present a new issue of the scientific journal Applied Research, dedicated to the international scientific conference Business and Technology Conference 2026.
This issue features fifteen articles in the fields of business and technology, offering insights into international research trends and exploring current developments in Portugal, Italy, India, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Albania, other Western Balkan countries, and Lithuania.
Many of the articles address the challenges facing businesses in an uncertain global environment, examining the factors that enable companies to adapt, manage change, and make decisions under complex conditions. For example, supply chain resilience is highlighted as a critical factor in business operations, while sustainable project management is recognised as a driver of competitiveness that creates value and helps align business objectives with broader environmental and social responsibilities. Meanwhile, according to researchers, the circular economy plays a key role in contributing to a country’s environmental and economic sustainability.
One article presents urban beekeeping as an important element of biodiversity conservation and environmental education, while another examines processes that could improve and optimise certain technologies in the food industry. A researcher from Ukraine shares insights into how wartime conditions have accelerated the transition from centralised management approaches to cross-functional crisis teams, shared leadership mechanisms, and emerging learning-based operational models. The issue also explores internationalisation processes that contribute to both business growth and regional economic development.
Human resource challenges also remain highly relevant in today’s uncertain global environment. Researchers examine the practical application of artificial intelligence technologies as a factor transforming the potential of human resources. The articles explore the role of career centres in developing employability skills and empowering students to realise their potential, as well as the importance of non-financial rewards in the context of project management.
The issue also addresses the health and well-being of older adults (aged 65 and over) and active ageing, investigating how digital health technologies and integrated care models can improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare services. Other topics include participation in voluntary private pension schemes and women’s financial inclusion.
Business challenges in an uncertain global environment, technological developments, environmental and economic sustainability, environmental protection, AI-driven transformations in human resource management, active ageing and healthcare, women’s financial inclusion, and many other topics are among today’s most pressing issues, attracting the attention of researchers worldwide.
If you have completed a research study and would like to share your findings, we warmly invite you to submit your article for the next issue of the scientific journal Applied Research, scheduled for publication in mid-2027!
