The acquisition of books or subscriptions to databases is based on the needs of the study programmes and the College community. Faculty lecturers, responsible staff, and the library collaborate in ordering literature. High-quality and relevant literature is selected and acquired according to the fields of study for which subject librarians are responsible.
The Library and Centre of Scientific Communication holds the majority of its books in open collections, arranged by subject according to the UDK classification. The library is equipped with RFID technology for the use and protection of the collection. Self-service facilities for borrowing and returning books are available to library users. You can find information about the library’s publications and their location within the collections on the Virtual Library at vb.kaunokolegija.lt/en. The library catalogue is directly linked to the library’s interactive map, where you can see the location of a book on the shelf. Books can be read in the library or borrowed for home use for a set period of time.
The books of the Alytus Faculty Library are available in open collections and can be found in the AF Library catalogue. Students and staff of the Alytus Faculty can also use the Library and Centre of Scientific Communication, access electronic resources through the Virtual Library, and order printed books online for pickup at the AF Library.
Members of the KK community can access approximately 280,000 e-books and about 22,000 scholarly e-journals from 13 international subscribed databases (EBSCO Publishing, Springer Journals, Taylor & Francis, EBSCO Book Academic Collection, Passport Euromonitor International, O’Reilly for Higher Education), as well as over 200 Lithuanian e-textbooks from Lithuanian databases (Vitae Litera, KVK, KU, VDU, KTU, and VGTU e-textbooks).
