Lithuanian libraries invite the public to participate in Media and Information Literacy Week (MIRKT) events, promoting media and information literacy in society. During this annual event, held in the last week of October, the aim is to foster critical thinking and encourage responsible information consumption. By joining the global Media and Information Literacy Week initiative, libraries are raising awareness of the dangers of misinformation and urging the public to avoid falling into the traps of false information.
During MIRKT Week, from October 24-31, 2024, adults are invited to participate in various activities, such as lectures, discussions, orienteering competitions, trivia quizzes, games, a virtual escape room, and various contests.
