(LT) 25-oji Nacionalinė Lietuvos bibliotekų savaitė

Libraries have long since moved away from their old image — today, they are no longer dark rooms filled with old bookshelves, but bright, modern, and open spaces that accommodate not only books, but also innovation, ideas, and creative solutions. A modern library is no longer limited to its physical environment; responding to the changing needs of users, it extends its services beyond its walls, reaching readers through their computer or phone screens.

Adapting to today’s fast-paced lifestyle, our library offers a wide range of online services: electronic resources, access to the latest scientific databases, online consultations, virtual training sessions, and other solutions that allow information and assistance to be available not only during library opening hours, but almost any time of the day. Today, a library is a space that not only waits for visitors to arrive but also reaches each person wherever they are.

It is precisely these kinds of modern, open, and user-oriented libraries that are being highlighted during this year’s 25th Anniversary of the National Lithuanian Library Week, inviting everyone to see libraries anew — as contemporary, always-accessible partners in both physical and digital spaces. During National Lithuanian Library Week, libraries across the country will be hosting various events, conferences, and quizzes.
