Exhibition of Photographic Reproductions of M. K. Čiurlionis’ Paintings Dedicated to the 150th Anniversary of the Artist’s Birth

We invite you to visit the exhibition of photographic reproductions of M. K. Čiurlionis’ paintings, displayed on the second floor of the library, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the artist’s birth.

Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875–1911) is one of the most prominent Lithuanian artists, whose name is today known and respected throughout the world. He was a composer, painter, and poet who managed to merge several art forms into a unique whole. In Čiurlionis’ works, music transforms into colors, and colors turn into sounds. His art stands out with its special atmosphere, filled with mystery, dreamlike imagery, symbols of nature and the cosmos, and the depths of the human spirit. The year 2025 has been declared the Year of M. K. Čiurlionis, offering an opportunity to remember this creator and his legacy, to rediscover his works, and to see them through the eyes of today. The exhibition invites everyone to pause and spend at least a moment with Čiurlionis’ art. Though 150 years have passed since Čiurlionis’ birth, his works remain alive—speaking to viewers today, inspiring them, and reminding us that true art is eternal.
