Books exhibition “Between “Speak More Quietly so That Only the Neighbors Don’t Hear” and “Shout Louder so That Only Everyone can Hear”

We invite you to the book exhibition on the third floor of the library “Between “Speak More Quietly so That Only the Neighbors Don’t Hear” and “Shout Louder so That Only Everyone can Hear”. The exhibition includes books about media, media literacy, advertising, social media art, and the influence of information published on social networks on society.

Social media is not only a part of our daily life and free time. Their rapidly spreading popularity changes habits, thinking, behavior, even shapes our personalities. The circumstances of recent years have further encouraged the digitization process, which has affected most areas. For this reason, the importance of media literacy has come to the fore. Media literacy is the ability to select and evaluate the information received in the media, in order to avoid the influence of the media and distance oneself from unnecessary information, at the same time it is the ability to create media content, use it independently, and understand its role in society. A critical social media user realizes that the information found on social networks is not a mirror reflection of the world, and this is extremely important so that the social media user does not blindly trust the information he receives and does not accept it as completely correct.
