Book exhibition “Open the Door to Summer”

We invite you to visit the book exhibition “Open the Door to Summer”, on display on the third floor of the library.

This exhibition encourages visitors to discover works of fiction that can enrich the summer season and provide unforgettable reading experiences. Here you will find books from a variety of genres, including novels, romance, adventure stories, detective fiction, and many other works that are sure to appeal both to devoted readers and to those who pick up a book only occasionally.

Summer is a time to slow down, spend more time in nature, travel, meet with family and friends, and discover new experiences. It is also the perfect season to devote more time to favorite activities, and one of the best companions for summer is a good book. Whether on a long journey, during a peaceful afternoon in the garden or by the lake, or on a cozy evening at home, a book is always close at hand. Every story opens the door to new worlds, introducing readers to different people, historical periods, and cultures. Reading not only offers a meaningful way to spend your free time, but also stimulates the imagination, broadens horizons, and helps us better understand ourselves and the world around us. During the summer, when everyday responsibilities often become less demanding, a book provides a wonderful opportunity to pause, relax, and immerse yourself in stories that inspire, move, or offer a fresh perspective on life.

The exhibition also highlights the annual nationwide reading challenge “Summer with a Book”, held throughout Lithuania. The initiative encourages readers to embrace new challenges, discover books they have not yet read, and share the joy of reading with others. Whether you aim to complete all the challenge’s tasks or are simply looking for an engaging book to enjoy on holiday, every story you read is a valuable discovery.
