Exhibition of Paintings by Students of the Object Conservation and Restoration Study Programme Academy of Arts, Faculty of Arts and Education, KK

We invite you to visit the exhibition “Forms of Memory”, presenting paintings by students of the Object Conservation and Restoration study programme at the Academy of Arts, Faculty of Arts and Education, Kauno Kolegija, on display on the second floor of the library. The exhibition features painting works created through the exploration of forms and details of historic architecture. The artworks emerged as a creative research process in which architecture becomes not only a depicted subject, but also a source of reflection on time, aesthetics, and cultural memory. Through painting, students interpret architectural fragments that testify to the traditions and artistic thinking of different historical periods.

Particular attention is given to the architecture of Lithuanian manor estates — their façade ornamentation, the shapes of doors and windows, and the textures of walls. On canvas, these elements acquire new colours and meanings, creating a dialogue between historical heritage and a contemporary perspective. The exhibition invites viewers to perceive architecture as a living cultural phenomenonand encourages a more attentive look at the surrounding environment and the traces of time embedded within it.
